INTERNATIONAL WOMEN'S DAY FLASH WRITING EVENT
Ends on
FLASH WRITING EVENT FOR OPEN SUBMISSIONS
Women writers supporting women writers.
This year we are celebrating International Women's Day by supporting women writers who support women writers by asking you to pay it forward.
This is a free and open submission. We will not charge for the submissions, rather we are suggesting that our writers make a donation to a non-profit organization of their choice that supports underserved communities of women who are learning to express themselves through writing.
Every piece will be posted. We’re doing something different and asking you to self-moderate, as we will not be sending these pieces through our regular editing acceptance/decline process. As always be cognizant in adhering to GDLJ's policy of not submitting material that causes division or promotes discrimination (this means, political, misogynistic, etc...). Please no graphic depictions of abuse or violence. One need not veer from difficult subject matter, we simply ask you to be thoughtful in how a situation is presented.
- Fiction, Memoir, Essay (no poetry)
- 500 words or less.
- 12PT Times New Roman.
- Double Spaced.
- 1' Margins.
- word.doc or word.dox
- Only single submissions allowed.
There will be a scrolling blog format with a link from our site. It will not be broken into separate posts like we normally do on the journal. The reason for this is to be a be able to get all of the submissions entered by March 7, to go live on March 8th.
